How to Delete Transactions & Certificates

Deleting transactions and certificates in Athennian is simple and efficient, especially when something is missing or incorrect, and you need to start over. Follow the steps below to perform deletions safely and effectively.

  1. From an Entity record, navigate to the Securities tab and select Ownership available on the left
  2. At the top center of the screen, click on the Transactions tab

  3. Locate the Transaction that you need to delete and click on the Trash icon to the very right

  4. A Delete Preview modal will appear with a detailed workflow for deleting transactions and certificates will display. Here, any new statuses impacted Certificates and Shareholdings and what the cascading repercussions of this delete would be, will be show and Users can now choose to:

Cascade Delete

  • Deletes the selected transaction or certificate and reverses all downstream transactions affected by it
  • Use this option to reset the impacted records entirely

Admin Delete

  • On the bottom left corner of the Delete Preview modal, you will see the Admin Delete button, click on it
  • A new modal will open for the Admin Delete Preview to delete only the selected transaction or certificate
  • This will leave downstream transactions intact. Users must manually delete or remediate any invalid records caused by the deletion

  • Press Admin Delete to proceed with this action

Note: (Bold) Using Admin Delete will leave downstream records, such as transactions or related certificates, in an Invalid state, which may require manual deletion or remediation.
