If you’re already logging in via SSO using your @company domain, you will not be required to set up multi-factor authentication (MFA)

To strengthen platform security, multi-factor authentication (MFA) will be mandatory for the following users starting January 30, 2025 at 6 PM EST:

  • Email and Password users
  • Google SSO users with personal accounts (@gmail.com)

Step-by-Step Instructions for Setting Up MFA

  • If you choose the Sign in with Email option, you will be prompted to enter your Email address and Password, then click Continue.

  • If you choose the Sign in with Google option and use a personal @gmail.com account, MFA setup will begin immediately after login.

Choose Your MFA Method

  • After entering your credentials, you will be prompted to set up MFA. You can select one of the following authentication methods: Google Authenticator or similar or Phone.

  1. Authenticator App method (e.g., Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator)

    • Scan the provided QR Code using your preferred Authenticator app. If you have difficulty scanning, click on Trouble Scanning? to be provided with a code to copy into your Authenticator app.
    • Enter the 6-digit one-time code generated by the app and click Continue.

  • Important: Copy the recovery code using the Copy code button and keep it somewhere safe. You'll need it in case you lose access to the device where the Authenticator app is installed. Check the box I have safely recorded this code to confirm you’ve saved it, then click Continue to access Athennian.
  1. Phone Number method (Text message or Voice call):

    • Select the Country code and enter your Phone number.
    • Choose whether to receive the code via Text message or Voice call by selecting the applicable option, then click Continue.

    • Enter the 6-digit code you receive by text message or voice call, and click Continue.
    • If you didn't receive a code, click Resend or get a call alternatively.
