This article will provide the necessary steps on how to effectively search for entity information using the Entity Search Bar!
How to search for Entities
- Navigate to the Entities tab down the left-hand side of the application
- Click the search bar in the top right-hand corner of the screen
- Type in your search criteria in the search bar
Note: Athennian will search for your criteria across all of the following fields:

- Entity Name
- Business Name (Registration)
- Previous Names
- Tax ID Number
- Registration Number (Home Jurisdiction)
- Minute Book Number
- Client Number
- Document File Number
Different ways of searching for an Entity
Entity Names Containing Characters
When searching for Entity entire names that have special characters such as é è ñ ç ..... if the accent is not included in the search, the Entity will not appear. So it is imperative to use the accents however, you are able to use a partial search.
Entity Partial Search
You are able to also do a partial search for the Entity you wish to locate i.e. for Café, if you search for Caf, the entity will appear.
Entity Names Containing Brackets
You can also type the entire Entity name, including the brackets in the search bar i.e. Paper (Interactive) Inc and hit the enter button on your keyboard it will appear.
Note: The search bar is not case sensitive so you are able to type the Entity name in lower/uppercase
Search for an Entity using a Business Name
- Click into the box on the right-hand side of the search bar and select Business Name
- Type in the Business Name in the search bar and search
The application will search for all Registrations where the Registration Type is Business Name and where the Business Name matches your search criteria.
Search for an Entity using a Tag
- Click into the box on the right-hand side of the search bar and select Tags
- Type in the Tag in the search bar and search
The application will search for all Entities where the Tag matches your search criteria.
