Streamline your UK compliance and meet new Companies House requirements by managing Director identity verification codes directly within Athennian.
Overview
As of November 18, 2025, Companies House mandates that all Directors and Persons of Significant Control (PSCs) must verify their identity to receive a unique Identity Verification Code. This code is required for future Companies House filings.
Athennian accommodates this change by providing a dedicated field in Person profiles to store this code. This code is then automatically referenced when completing relevant filings, such as the CS01 Confirmation Statement.
Availability: All customers with the Companies House E-Filing add-on integration.
Add the Identity Verification Code to a Person Profile
Before completing a filing, store the unique code on the individual's profile.
Navigate to the Person profile for the Director or PSC
Select the Contact tab
Locate the Identity Verification Code field in the Personal Identifiable Information section
Enter the 11-character code provided by Companies House
Select Save
Note: The system validates that the code meets the 11-character requirement. An invalid code format cannot be saved.
Include Directors in a CS01 Confirmation Statement
When filing a CS01, use the new Identity Verification Form section to confirm the Directors associated with the entity.
Navigate to the Entity and open an existing Annual Compliance (CS01) task or create a new one
Complete the filing details as required
Scroll to the section titled Identity Verification for Directors
Select + Add to choose from the existing list of set principals
Select the Directors who require identity verification for this filing
Confirm the correct Directors are listed in the section
Proceed to File the confirmation statement
Important: This Identity Verification Form section within the CS01 task is specific to Directors only. Persons with Significant Control (PSCs) are managed separately through a dedicated portal provided by Companies House.
Review the Filing Status
After submitting the filing, track its progress in the E-File Orders page.
Navigate to Settings from the main menu
Select E-File Orders
Review the status of the submitted CS01 filing
