Data Integrity Issue error messages will appear on the Securities screen if Securities data is not aligned.
These errors can occur any time the Securities data is not in sync. But they will most often appear following the migration of data from one database into Athennian.
This can be especially confusing in scenarios where the data "looked" correct in the previous system, but there was incorrect data stored in the database.
Reviewing Data Integrity Issues via Tasks
If the error was created from the Migration of data into Athennian, a Review Exceptions Task will be automatically generated to help provide visibility on the error.

Identifying an Error
Data Integrity errors will appear on the Securities > Ownership screen if there is an error or discrepancy in the Ownership data. They appear in Ownership as a red exclamation point icon:
The Data Integrity errors are designed to draw attention to the issue so that it can be corrected. Until the error is resolved, it is not possible to generate any Securities documentation for that Entity. So understanding the issue and being able to correct the errors is essential.
Understanding the Data Integrity Messages
If an error icon appears, click on the Red Exclamation icon for more details about the error at hand to assist in locating the specific issue that requires correction. The detail available will vary based on the type of issue, but will usually include:
- Name of the Entity
- Name of the Share Class
- Transaction Details, i.e. Shareholder, Number of Shares, Certificate Number, Transaction Date
- Error Explanation
- Recommendation for remediation
