Custom Titles are used when the available titles or roles are not relevant to the specific duties of the Principal or profile being created. This feature allows for greater precision when tracking specific internal roles.
Overview
Custom Titles can be used across various profiles, including Principals, Profile Addresses, Contacts, Responsible Professionals, Agents, and Other Professionals. New titles are created within the Roles sub-section of the profile creation modal and can be applied immediately after being saved.
Availability: All Athennian plans with eSigning enabled. Custom Titles can be created and managed within the Roles subsection of a record.
Access the Custom Title Manager
- Navigate to the desired Entity
- Select Principals from the left panel
- Click the + New button to open the Principal modal
- Navigate to the Roles sub-section
- Click + Add Role
- Select a Role from the dropdown menu (e.g., Director, Manager)
- A Manage Custom Title button will appear below the role dropdown, specific to the selected role (e.g., Manage Director Custom Title)
- Click the Manage Custom Title button
Create a New Custom Title
- In the Edit modal that appears, click the + Add Option button in the top right corner
- A new field will appear at the bottom of the list
- Click on the field and type in the name of the Custom Title (e.g., Test Field)
- To delete an existing custom title, click the trash can icon next to the title
- Click the Save button in the bottom right corner
Apply and Finalize the Role
- After saving, the new Custom Title will be available in the Custom Title field dropdown
- Select the new Custom Title
- Complete the remaining fields in the Add Role modal
- Click the blue Create button in the bottom right corner to finalize the Principal record
Note: Custom Titles allow users to tailor roles to fit organizational needs when predefined options do not apply.
