Learn various ways to transfer shares

Transferring Shares from One Shareholder to Another Shareholder

Transferring shares from one shareholder to another is simple and easy to do! Just follow the steps listed below:

  1. Navigate to the profile of the entity whose shares you're wanting to transfer;

  2. Navigate to the Securities > Shares section down the lefthand side of the screen;

  3. In the Transactions tab, select + New - a list of various transactions will appear;

  4. Select Transfer from the list of transactions - a workflow will open up;

  5. Fill in the Transaction Date and Resolution Date; if you do not yet have these dates, check off Blank Transaction Date/Blank Resolution Date and fill them in at a later time - note: if you check off Blank Transaction Date, underlines will appear in the documents when you generate them where the dates would have appeared;

  6. Enter the Number of shares you wish to transfer as well as the Price Per Share and Currency - note: the number of shares to be transferred from the certificate(s) must match the Number of Shares entered in the Amount section (a warning will appear notifying you of the required balance);

  7. In the From section, select the shareholder transferring the shares;

  8. In the To section, either select Create a new shareholder to add a new shareholder, or select Select from an existing shareholding to select an existing shareholder to transfer the shares to - select the address of the new shareholder if this shareholder has more than one address listed in the database;

  9. Confirm the certificate issuance details in the Certificate Issuance tab, review all of the transfer details in the Review tab, and then select Transfer;

  10. Generate the supporting documents.

Transferring Shares from One Shareholder to Two Shareholders

Transferring shares from one shareholder to two shareholders is simple and easy to do! Just follow the steps listed below:

  1. Navigate to the profile of the entity whose shares you're wanting to transfer;

  2. Navigate to the Securities > Shares section down the lefthand side of the screen;

  3. In the Transactions tab, select + New - a list of various transactions will appear;

  4. Select Transfer from the list of transactions - a workflow will open up;

  5. Fill in the Transaction Date and Resolution Date; if you do not yet have these dates, check off Blank Transaction Date/Blank Resolution Date and fill them in at a later time - note: if you check off Blank Transaction Date, underlines will appear in the documents when you generate them where the dates would have appeared;

  6. Enter the Number of shares you wish to transfer as well as the Price Per Share and Currency;

  7. In the From section, select the shareholder transferring the shares;

  8. In the From section, also select the certificate from which you would like to transfer the shares - note: the number of shares to be transferred from the certificate(s) must match the Number of Shares entered in the Amount section (a warning will appear notifying you of the required balance);

  9. In the From section, make sure to check off the Leave balance on certificate box to leave the balance of the shares on the original certificate so that you can transfer the remainder of the shares to the second shareholder in a separate transaction;

  10. In the To section, either select Create a new shareholder to add a new shareholder, or select Select from an existing shareholding to select an existing shareholder to transfer the shares to - select the address of the new shareholder if this shareholder has more than one address listed in the database;

  11. Confirm the certificate issuance details in the Certificate Issuance tab, review all of the transfer details in the Review tab, and then select Transfer;

  12. Generate the supporting documents;

  13. Repeat steps 1 through 8 and 10 through 12 for the second shareholder.

Transferring Shares from Two Shareholders to One Shareholder

Transferring shares from two shareholders to one shareholder is simple and easy to do! Just follow the steps listed below:

  1. Navigate to the profile of the entity whose shares you're wanting to transfer;

  2. Navigate to the Securities > Shares section down the lefthand side of the screen;

  3. In the Transactions tab, select + New - a list of various transactions will appear;

  4. Select Transfer from the list of transactions - a workflow will open up;

  5. Fill in the Transaction Date and Resolution Date; if you do not yet have these dates, check off Blank Transaction Date/Blank Resolution Date and fill them in at a later time - note: if you check off Blank Transaction Date, underlines will appear in the documents when you generate them where the dates would have appeared;

  11. Repeat steps 1 through 7;

  12. In the To section, select Select from an existing shareholding and select the shareholder you transferred shares to in the previous steps;

  13. In the same section, make sure to check off Add to existing certificate and select the certificate issued pursuant to the first transfer - this will allow you to transfer the shares to that same certificate;

  14. Confirm the certificate issuance details in the Certificate Issuance tab, review all of the transfer details in the Review tab, and then select Transfer;

  15. Generate the supporting documents.
