Maintaining a clean, professional look in complex Structure Charts is essential for clear communication. The Recalculate feature automatically refines line paths to ensure they follow the most logical, streamlined route between shapes.
Availability: Customers on the Professional and Enterprise plans.
Understand Line Recalculation
Before making adjustments, it is important to understand how the system optimizes line paths:
The tool identifies the most direct path between two shapes when a line appears warped or broken
The system prioritizes paths that avoid unnecessary bends or awkward angles
Recalculate does not move Entity nodes or Class nodes; it only adjusts the lines connecting them
The feature will not change a layout if the system already determines the current path to be the most efficient route based on node placement
Recalculate Connection Paths
Follow these steps to clean up the alignment of lines within a Structure Chart:
Navigate to the Entities section and select the desired Entity
Open the Structure Charts tab and launch the relevant chart
Expand the necessary Connections to populate the chart
Locate the Layout Options option in the left-side toolbar
Select Connection Paths
Click Recalculate to instantly straighten and align the connection lines between the nodes
