The Relationships section provides a comprehensive view of all connections that exist for a given Entity. These connections are categorized into two primary, but distinct, sections: Affiliations and Associations.

The Relationships section contains both Affiliations and Associations to display all internal and external connections of an Entity. Every relationship record is structured to track critical data, including Profile Type, Role & Title, Dates for historical accuracy, and Addresses.

Affiliations

Affiliations represent inward relationships within an entity. These include profiles such as Principals, Agents, Responsible Professionals, or Beneficial Owners, all of whom interact directly with that entity.

This tab is used to track profiles (Entities or Persons) fulfilling key non-ownership roles such as:

  • Principal (e.g., Director, Officer)

  • Agent

  • Responsible Professional

  • Contact

  • Other Professional

Associations

Associations represent outward relationships that the entity has with other entities or individuals.

For example:

  • The entity owns 25% of the shares in another entity.

  • A not-managed entity acts as a bank for multiple confirmed entities.

This tab also tracks profiles in non-ownership roles (e.g., Agent, Contact) but often focuses on entity-to-entity connections or roles that include detailed registrations.

Each relationship, whether created as an Affiliation or an Association, contains key structural information:

  • Profile Type: Select whether the relationship is with an Entity or a Person.

  • Role & Title: Choose a specific Principal Role (for Affiliations) or a general Role and Title (for Associations) from the dropdown.

  • Dates: Record the Effective Date and, if applicable, an End Date using the format YYYY-MM-DD.

  • Addresses: Select from existing addresses or create a new one if needed.

  • Supporting Data: Add Notes, link Documents, and for Associations, include Registrations when relevant.
