Note: For a more detailed review of Configuring Access, be sure to check out the Video Tutorials for Access in the Athennian Academy.  Specifically, the second video on the link above provides a detailed review of Configuring Access.

Step 1: Configure sets of Entity and People records in Access Groups

Determine how data will need to be segmented for different users:

  • If all users of Athennian should see all Entities, then all data can be placed in one Access Group
  • If data needs to be restricted to specific individuals or groups of individuals, then create multiple Access Groups and assign the appropriate data to each Access Group

Step 2: Assign Individuals with specific Roles to each Access Group

Determine what Role provides the permissions individuals should have to access the data they can see:

  • Create Individual profiles and assign a default User Type Role and
  • Assign that Individual Profile  directly to the appropriate Access Group

  • Or is using the recommended User Group configuration, create the appropriate User Groups
  • Connect each User Group to the appropriate Access Group
  • Add Individual Profiles to the appropriate User Group
