Use the convenient export feature in Structure Charts to seamlessly save your charts directly to the Documents section within Athennian while also downloading a local file. This streamlines document management and improves chart accessibility.

Overview

The Export feature allows users to download a Structure Chart in various formats, including PDF, PPTX (PowerPoint), XLSX (Excel), SVG, or PNG. The exported document is automatically saved to the Documents section of the Entity and can be configured to include the Legend in a placement of your choice.

Availability: All customers.

Note: Customers on the Professional and Enterprise plans, when selecting the Export XLSX option, can choose specific data points to build a customized ownership report in Excel format. Learn more about this feature in the Export Ownership Reports from Structure Charts article.


Export the Chart

  1. Navigate to the Structure Charts section in an Entity or Person profile
  2. Open the desired Entity to view the chart
  3. Click the blue Export button in the top right corner
  4. Select the desired file format from the options: Export PDF, PPTX, XLSX, SVG, or PNG

Finalize Export Settings

  1. An Export [Format] modal will automatically appear
  2. Check or uncheck the box to Include Legend
  3. Click the Current Location dropdown to adjust the Legend placement: Current Location, Top Right, Bottom Left, Bottom Right, or Separate File
  4. Click Export

Access the Exported Chart

  1. A notification will appear confirming the export has started and then successfully completed
  2. The file will automatically download to the local PC
  3. Navigate to the Documents section within Athennian to access the exported chart
  4. Locate the document in the selected format (e.g., PDF) and click to view

Note: The exported Structure Chart saves automatically to the Documents section while also downloading to your device. This ensures efficient document management and easy access for future reference.
