Create a New Entity Record

Learn how to create an entity from scratch!

Follow these basic steps to create a new entity record:

  1. A shorcut is from the Dashboard, in the Recently Viewed Entities, click on the + New button on the right side
  2. Alternatively, navigate to the Entities tab down the left-hand side of the screen

  3. Select + New at the top right of the screen - a dropdown menu will appear where you select between different options: Entity, Entity from template, Import Entities and Create Entity with AI

  4. Select Entity from the dropdown menu - a modal will pop up

  5. In the New Entity modal, enter the initial information required to get started in creating the new entity record:

    • Note: The only required fields are those with the asterisks: Entity Name and Link with Access Group(s)

    • In the Details tab:

      • Enter the Entity Name (mandatory) and add any other additional information if known - if the other information is unknown, leave the fields blank and wait until the entity is formed before going back into the profile and update the field

      • In the Link with Access Group(s) dropdown, select the Access Group(s) for which the entity should be linked to
    • In the Address (optional) tab, add the address if known 
    • By default the status is set to Pending. At the top right corner of the modal, click to open up the dropdown list to view the other entity statuses
      • To learn more about the different statuses and what they mean, consult Entity Statuses 
    • Click Create
  6. The entity record will automatically open. There, you can start filling in other details.

Once the entity is created, it will be in the list of entities in the Entities tab. Select the entity record to access the profile of the entity.
