This update enables administrators to flag residential and connection addresses as secure data, dynamically hiding personal information from unauthorized users while keeping comprehensive records fully accessible to cleared personnel.
Overview
Personal Identifiable Information (PII) designation allows administrators and cleared users to secure individual address data. Once a record is marked as secure, the system automatically obfuscates the address details everywhere it appears in the platform, including contact cards, shareholder profiles, and reporting dashboards.
Availability: Customers on the Professional and Enterprise plans.
Note: Refer to the Manage User PII and AI Access article to learn how admins can manage users' PII access.
Configure an Address as PII
Navigate to the People section
Select the specific individual profile to open the personal record details
Once in the desired profile, click on the Addresses tab
Open an existing address entry, such as a residential address, or create a new address record
Locate the PII toggle switch situated in the top right corner of the Profile Address modal
Click the PII toggle switch to turn on data restriction for the selected address
Click Save to finalize the configuration and mask the address across the platform
Preview Masked Address Data
Navigate to the People section
Select the specific individual profile to open the personal record details
Once in the desired profile, click on the Addresses tab
Navigate to any Address where the secure address is utilized, including entity contact connections or shareholder profiles
Click the Eye icon displayed directly next to the obfuscated address text to unmask and view the hidden address details temporarily
Additional Important Notes / Tips
Note:
User permissions to view, flag, or unmask sensitive addresses are controlled entirely via profile configurations within the Access section of the application
Users without explicit PII access enabled on their profile will completely lose visibility of the Eye icon and will view masked placeholder text across all screens
Address obfuscation extends automatically into custom reporting, meaning generated spreadsheets will mask PII addresses unless compiled by a user with authorized profile clearance
