Enhance People records and meet broader status criteria by defining tailored labels for individuals within the platform.

Overview

The Custom Person Status feature allows for the creation of specific labels that reflect the true nature of individuals stored in Athennian. This provides the flexibility to specify criteria, offering more reference points than standard top-level statuses.

Availability: All customers.


Access the Custom Person Status Field 

  • Navigate to the People section in the side navigation bar

  • Select a specific person record to open the profile

  • Click on the Contact tab

  • Locate the Details section and from the Status dropdown, select the Custom option

  • The Custom Person Status dropdown will appear

  • Select an option from the dropdown


Configure Status Options as an Administrator

Add Status Options

  • Click the Manage Custom Person Status button

  • Click the + Add option button to create a new status label

  • Type the desired name for the status (e.g., "Missing", "Retired" or "Resigned) into the available field

  • Click the blue Save button to add the new status to the Custom Person Status dropdown list

  • Repeat the above steps for all necessary status labels required by the organization

Edit Status Options

  • Locate the existing status option requiring modification within the Custom Person Status list

  • Click on the custom status to change the name or label of an existing status

  • Click the Delete icon (trash can symbol) to remove an unused status label from the list

  • Note that deleting a status label currently in use by a Person may impact Custom Reports and data visibility


Track Custom Statuses in Reports

  • Navigate to the Reports section in the left-hand navigation pane

  • Create or edit a Custom Report and select the People source

  • In the Results, add the Person Details: Custom Status column to the report to surface specific labels for data exports and tracking
