Athennian's AI Translate makes it easy to understand documents written in different languages by providing on-demand, AI-powered translations directly within Athennian. This feature helps teams work more efficiently with global records by offering quick context and clarity without altering the original document.

Overview

The AI Translation tool is designed to provide a high-level understanding of a document's content rather than an exact, formatted replica of the original. While the original document remains unchanged and accessible in its native language, users can generate translations that persist for their personal view. Translations are user-specific, meaning teammates will not see your translations and can generate their own as needed. 

Availability: All users with Athennian AI access. Reach out to your CSM if you're interested in this add-on feature.


Generate a Translation

  1. Navigate to the Documents section or the Minute Book and open the desired document
  2. Select the Translation tab at the top of the document viewer

  3. Click the Translated To dropdown menu and select your preferred language

  4. The AI will automatically detect the source language and generate the translation text

  5. To switch languages, select a different language from the dropdown; the system will maintain this preference the next time you view the document

  6. Click on Regenerate Translation to populate a new version


Save or Download Translations

  1. To keep a copy of the translated text, click the Download button
  2. A dropdown will appear. Select either Download Word or Download PDF format 

  3. To store the translation within Athennian, click Save as New File

  4. The Save Translation as New Document modal will appear. Rename the file if applicable in the Name field and choose between saving in Word or PDF format

  5. In the Select Location section, select the applicable Minute Book folder and click Save here to finalize

  6. Choose to save the file to the desired section

  7. If necessary, click New Folder to organize your translated records

  8. Once the new folder or desired section has been chosen, click Save Here, and a green notification will confirm that this procedure has been successful

Note: The generated translation focuses on text accuracy and content. It will not maintain specific document structures, such as complex forms or unique layouts.
