We’re excited to share the latest updates to the Athennian platform, designed to enhance your workflows and streamline your experience. Here’s what's new:
What’s New
Athennian AI: Initialize Transactions (Beta)
We’re continuing to expand what Athennian AI can do—this time with a smarter way to build securities records. AI Initialize: Transactions helps you create ownership data while building new entities, by pulling key data directly from uploaded documents like securities registers.
It identifies share issuances, transfers, cancellations, certificate codes and holder details—then produces records doing most of the work for you. You still review and approve everything, but AI takes care of the heavy lifting, saving time while keeping you in control. Here’s what new:
- Automated detection of issuances, transfers and balance updates.
- Extraction of certificate codes, transaction dates and holder information.
- Creation of holdings records tied to accurate certificate histories.
- Designed for new entities (does not modify existing data).
Availability: Customers using Athennian AI.
Debt Tracking
The new Debt feature makes it easier to manage intercompany shareholder loans across legal, finance and operations teams. Built for clarity and control, this feature allows you to create, track and report on loans between entities, all in one place. Here’s why it matters:
- Stay organized with a centralized view of loans issued and loans received.
- Ensure accuracy with clear lender and borrower relationships, plus a complete audit trail of draws, repayments and forgiveness transactions.
The feature includes four key views—Loans Issued, Loans Received, Borrowers and Transactions—making it easier to manage the full loan lifecycle from start to finish. With role-based access, real-time statuses, exportable records and an intuitive new layout, it'll be easier and faster to track intercompany loans.
Availability: Customers on the Professional and Enterprise plans.
Release schedule: If you're not seeing this feature in your environment yet, it will be available to you in the near future. If you have any questions, feel free to contact your CSM.
Structure Chart: Initial Load Settings
Admins will now be able to set how many levels of a structure chart load by default, making it easier to focus on the most relevant parts of large or complex structures. To get started, navigate to the Settings page, then click on ‘View Preference’. There, you’re able to set the structure chart upward and download levels upon initial load. This change is applied to all users.
Availability: Customers on the Enterprise plan.
UI Update: Templates View
We’re updating the Templates section to make it easier to navigate and more consistent with the rest of the platform. The refreshed layout improves the experience across all three tabs—Custom, Standard and Packages, making it easier to find and manage the templates you use most.
This will be the new default view; however, a ‘New Experience’ toggle will be available for 30 days, giving you the option to switch back to the classic layout while you get comfortable with the changes.
Availability: All customers (section limited to Administrators only).
Release schedule: If you're not seeing this update in your environment yet, it will be available to you in the near future. If you have any questions, feel free to contact your CSM.

What’s Fixed
Athennian AI: Centralize - Addresses
AI now detects and captures the start and end dates of addresses in the uploaded document. It also correctly identifies and captures the types of addresses without defaulting to Business.
